SLEEPING BEAUTIES by Stephen King & Owen King
Expected publication: September 26th 2017 by Hodder & Stoughton

WoW_SleepingBeauties_StephenOwenKingIn this spectacular father-son collaboration, Stephen King and Owen King tell the highest of high-stakes stories: what might happen if women disappeared from the world of men?

In a future so real and near it might be now, something happens when women go to sleep; they become shrouded in a cocoon-like gauze. If they are awakened, if the gauze wrapping their bodies is disturbed or violated, the women become feral and spectacularly violent; and while they sleep they go to another place. The men of our world are abandoned, left to their increasingly primal devices. One woman, however, the mysterious Evie, is immune to the blessing or curse of the sleeping disease. Is Evie a medical anomaly to be studied, or is she a demon who must be slain? Set in a small Appalachian town whose primary employer is a women’s prison, Sleeping Beauties is wildly provocative and gloriously absorbing.

    • The last book I’ve read was a really long time ago, so reprising King’s novels would be an interesting take after all these years. I am very intrigued by the concept, so I hope I get the chance to read it.
      Thanks for stopping by!

  1. This one sounds intriguing! I haven’t read anything by this author, but have heard of him. That’s interesting this is a father and son duo co-writing a book. I hope you’ll enjoy it when you get around to reading it!

    • I was really into him (the books, I mean) when I was a teenager, and I haven’t read anything by him in such a long time. Hopefully his style will be just as I remember.

  2. I hope you enjoy it once you read it, Fran. It sounds SO good. I was a huge fan of his books when I was in college. Thanks for sharing this book. Have no idea he has a new book coming out this month,

    • Me too! My favourite book back then was Firestarter, then I kinda fell out of interest, so I was really pleased to discover there was a new book coming out.

  3. Firstly, I am so sorry I’m only visiting this post now! You visited my WOW weeks ago and I’ve been so busy with blogging and life I haven’t had the chance to visit back yet. So sorry!

Oh wow this sounds good! I’ve never read King before, but I really like this premise. Thanks for sharing 🙂

    • Hi Amy, no problem at all!! Life has a habit of getting in the way, haha, it happens to me as well!
You should definitely read King, but I would advise to begin with his earlier works! Thank you for stopping by!
